Talayeh was a daughter of a rich family in northern Iran, always rebellious and getting in trouble. Despite her fathers conservatism she managed to force him to let her go to university, where she soon became involved in radical issues. She ended up in direct conflict with the mullahs about politics, religious freedom and female rights. The conflict escalated until a local mullah lost his temper and led his faithful in an attempt to stone the infidel witch when she was 17. She erupted during the stoning, first deflecting the stones, then having them – and the throwers – fall into the sky where a dramatic thunderstorm formed. She then managed to escape to the British embassy where she sought asylum. The then chief of British Defence Intelligence Mid-East operations, Donald Carpenter, decided to gamble on her and managed to smuggle her out of the country and ensure that she was given UK asylum (and later citizenship). The event damaged UK-Iran relations severely and led to a sideways kick upwards for (now) Sir Carpenter to the UKNTF. In Britain Talayeh was largely welcomed by the population, especially since she began to use her weather control commercially for guaranteeing good weather for various events (against the protests of environmentalists). Her random effects on weather due to dreams were minimized by her staying at the ENA platform outside Aberdeen. Later developments: The spirited and rebellious Talayeh was a constant challenge for the staid planners of ENA, and more than once caused diplomatic incidents. She was an important part of most ENAReST operations and the British-Swedish space program. Powers: Talayeh is most known for her control over the weather, which she uses not just directly but also to fly (on strong wind gusts) and attack (using lightening). However, her powers are in general powers about mechanical force. She can project a deflecting forcefield, change the momentum of objects and affect gravity. However all these are linked to the weather; when she uses these powers the weather changes in her vicinity. Her dreams and general mood also affects the weather, making her a walking disruption of the normal weather systems. She is also able to draw quantum power from powerful weather phenomena, dampening them as she gets energized. In addition to these powers she exhibits “temporal delocalisation”, the tendency to occasionally experience precognitive moments (together with flashbacks to past traumas) where she simultaneously sees past, present and future. |
